Rationale and Organization of the Campaign

How the Campaign will Run

All our organizations run campaigns in support of the Palestinians’ struggle for their national rights. Some of focus on Israeli violations of human rights and international law, often initiating suits in national and international courts. Others organize mass protests around major political developments (like the ongoing genocide in Gaza) or engage in lobbying and media advocacy. Still others push for boycotts, divestment and sanctions (BDS) against Israel, urge their churches and synagogues into using their moral authority to take principled stands, or produce films, books and other advocacy resources. And much more, depending the organization’s agenda.

This campaign is different. It is a kind of meta-campaign designed to monitor and react in real time to unfolding events regarding the normalization process, a Big Picture campaign into which our particular campaigns and activities can integrate. How will it operate?

The Campaign has been initially launched by the Palestinian-led One Democratic State Campaign (ODSC). We have put up a basic, functional website designed to serve as a tool for initiating pro-active actions and a resource for ensuing that our actions strategic and well-informed. The website:

Sets out the urgency of the normalization issue and explains it within the context of settler colonialism and current political developments.

Presents a list of demands that, if implemented, will effectively halt the normalization process and lay the groundwork for a genuine peace process led by Palestinians and based on Palestinian rights.

Provides links to the key elements of settler colonialism

and provides an almost daily update on what is happening to advance these processes, both on the ground in Palestine/Israel and internationally. Since the vehicle of normalization, the Abraham Accords, requires the complicity of Arat governments, an additional link monitors that:

A final link

will monitor the activities of organizations groups and individuals participating in the Campaign, thus facilitating greater cooperation and coordination.

how, under the Trump/Netanyahu-sponsored normalization process, they are moving towards the completion of the Zionist project.

In the meantime, the ODSC is willing to take responsibility for getting the Campaign up and running, but as organizations and people join us we are eager to extend the circle of those cooperating into a wider forum which, in general, will make our collective efforts more fruitful.
